How does Carson’s return impact the Eagles?

The news we have all been waiting for has finally come and Eagles fans around the world are rejoicing!  Carson Wentz has been cleared to play and will be our starting Quarterback this Sunday. It seems as though all along the Eagles had been aiming for week three to bring back Carson. It also seems to be perfect timing with the upcoming schedule.

Wentz will get a chance to get his feet wet against a pretty soft and below average defense in Indianapolis. The following week the Eagles take a trip to Tennessee to play the Titans before they really get into the meat of their schedule in October. It is important the Eagles pick up two quick wins and go into October 3-1.

Most importantly, Wentz being back will help make up for the injuries at receiver. The Eagles obviously feel as though they have enough help from within that they didn’t have to make a trade or sign anyone this week. The receivers will be better this week just by having Wentz back in the lineup. A great quarterback makes the receivers around him better and that’s what we should see starting this Sunday. Wentz will see and make throws that Foles can’t. Not taking away anything from Foles, but he is what he is and he has his limits.

His presence alone will give a boost and send a jolt through the entire offense. Hopefully, some of that jolt is felt by the defense and they step up their game a little bit too. Wentz’s return should fire up the entire team. I expect a much better effort out of the Eagles Sunday, and it looks like Vegas expects the same. The Eagles are a touchdown favorite and as the hype around Wentz’s return heightens, it should only go up from there. It’s Carson’s team again, and it feels great type those words.
