Tom Brady Cements His Legacy as the G.O.A.T.

You can hate Tom Brady all you want: that stupid smirk, the way he carries himself… You can hate everything about the man, but one thing became official last night: Tom Brady is the greatest quarterback in NFL history. For me, that fact was cemented when he brought the Patriots back from being down 28-3 and beating the Falcons two years ago. However, a lot of haters still wouldn’t give it to him even after that historic accomplishment. Now that he has won his sixth, you are ignorant if you don’t acknowledge it.

As an Eagles fan, I could honestly care less about Brady and the Patriots. We got our win last season and beat them. However, as a fan of the game, I can acknowledge greatness when I see it. I appreciate it because we will never see a run like this by a quarterback ever again. What we are witnessing is historic, and it’s a run I will tell my children about. You can say he got lucky, but you don’t get lucky six times. He is the only player who has won six Super Bowls.

Brady makes the throws when he has to make them. The throw he made to Gronk to set up the go-ahead touchdown is a perfect example. That throw is Tom Brady in a nutshell. It is why the man has won six championships. He makes throws in every Super Bowl when he has to make them. Sunday was all about the defense, and deservedly so. They had McVay and Goff bewildered all night. However, that should no way diminish the accomplishment of Brady getting his sixth ring.

We have witnessed a run of greatness since 2001. Instead of hating on it, we should appreciate it. We will never see anything like this again in our lifetimes. The next time you hear someone say the Patriots got lucky the Seahawks didn’t run it or they got lucky the Falcons stopped playing, remind them how lucky the Giants got when they played the Patriots. It all averages out, and the six rings they have you can’t take away.
